Author Tamsy Ashman

Cultural expert and author Tamsy Ashman wrote the book In The Know: Inspiring Black Figures. It aims to fill in some of the gaps and provide representation to children of colour and inspire them to continue making a valuable contribution to our world. It also aims to bring knowledge of the different impact black figures have had to enlighten those who were unaware. It is easy to read to children and presents lesser known black history in a digestible way with a mixture of newer and older figures highlighted. It also encourages children to think of what career they may have in the future and consider how they want to impact the world.
