Description
SwagHer Magazine and Media is a lifestyle, cultural, empowerment magazine and media source both online and print founded in 2010 in Baton Rouge, LA. Initially, what began as an online platform woman of color, SwagHer expanded to a print format in 2014, which carried more exclusive content and headline stories. With major visibility in the Atlanta market, SwagHer relocated its headquarters to keep up with the demand but later moved back to the Baton Rouge area, where it is today. Then following the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castille in 2016 and seeing there was a need for the presence of Black women, supporting Black men, we soon turned our focus to uplifting the Black community as a whole.
SwagHer Magazine has experienced growth in our virtual teams by adding Brand Ambassadors, Contributors, Media Personalities and a lifestyle podcast, Theories & Thoughts. As growth continues, SwagHer has made it a point to serve our community, tell the untold stories of those who may not have any other platform, and to honor those who do. We have adopted the tagline, ‘Our Stories, Our Struggles, Our Success’, as a way of saying, By us For Us. As a prominent media source for our community, we share stories that matter to us, that uplift and celebrate US. Through the years we have featured iconic features such as the former Vice President of Lockheed Martin, Shan Cooper, celebrities such as Angel McCoughtry, Priscilla Shirer, Kandi Burruss-Tucker, David Banner, Leandria Johnson, and Tami Roman, etc.
Aside from creating content, SwagHer Magazine also acts as a PR and branding boutique providing services to small business owners. SwagHer Magazine and Media is published by Fancy’s Thoughts, LLC. Francheska Felder is the Editor In Chief/Publisher.
